Amy Matthews Graduate Collection 'Frozen Future'
My graduate collection is based on current geological issues in the world such as global warming and how scientists predict that the warming of the Earth will eventually lead it to another ice age. The collection is designed for Autumn/Winter 2012/13 where it has been forecasted that at this time geological issues will be at the fore front of many problems. This will effect fashion immensely meaning synthetic and functional materials will be essential for the future rather than using all natural sources.

The 'All Wool' Dress.
The 'All Wool' dress idea was influenced by Japanese fashion design. Japanese designers like to create their own textiles or use a textile specialist to help make their textile ideas come alive. In my own work I used wool fibres to create the 'All Wool' dress and constructed it manually using knitting and knotting techniques.
